For those that use P2P and don't run Peerguardian, shame on you. PG2 is soon to be released, which solves all the inherent downfalls of PG1 (no UDP blocking and a resource hog due to the every growing blocklist). The quick solution until PG2 is released is to use PGLite. Also be aware that several spyware outfits are rebadging PG, so don't download PG from anywhere except the methlabs site and forum.

| What of the ISP's that do not divuldge the users information? I thought I heard/read some where that Charter and someone else did not replease user's private information?? Is this still the case? Does anyone know of any suits that went through to some of the ISP's that said "no"? This whole ordeal worries me as I received a C&D in October for downloading one movie back in July! I followed the instructions and C&D'd...This just really blows for us huge movie fans that actually DO purchase movies even after downloading... |

detractors would say here at BBR, the only thing I've found
wrong with it has been that it is a CPU hog. I switched to
Protowall a long time ago, and also use Bluetack's
Blocklist Manager, which I try to check for updates to at
least once a week. The program also allows blocklists to
be converted into several different other formats (Bearshare
Hostiles, Shareaza XML Security Digest, etc.) for both P2P
software and firewalls, and can even import rules into these
applications. And if you find that a website is being
blocked, you can exclude it from the blocklist.

As a matter of fact, they released PG2Lite, which is the stripped down version of PG2, with minimal, if no CPU usage. Especially for P2P apps.
I don't care what anyone says, PG rules.
The logs of blocked connection attemps alone speak for themselves. The Anti-P2P bunch has already tried to take down the author of PG, with no success. (So far)

If you don't live in the USA just keep on downloading, thumb your noses right in their faces. Plenty of netcafes here have links to p2p apps right on the desktop, and a convenient dvd burner + software. Just gotta bring your own dvds. LMAO.
