| Making Profit It's just the company wanting to make more money in the long run, by telling the customer that they only qualify for a certain speed lower than they actually do, so that later on in time they can say "We can offer you this package at $10-15 more.
I've had clients that I've installed, and synced at 6-8mb down, and 768kbps up. But the phone company wont give them the package they want even though it is available. All in the politics and pricing.
