In regards to: »Good-bye Roelof I'm asking anyone who is able to crunch for the Honor Guard account. The Honor Guard account is one we use to show our respect for our fallen teammates and Roelof has earned much respect. Crunch for as long as you like folks but please do crunch. All you have to do is make up a seperate seti folder and set it up using the email addy honorguardinmemoriam@yahoo.com If you need any help just post and we'll get you going. Farewell Roelof, I know you'll have fun checking the stars personally. -- Join BroadbandReports.com's SETI@Home Team Don't let your computer's idle time go to waste! |

|
 | reply to Liontaur I did try to but for some reason I couldn't get any WUs downloaded, and when I went to the server status page it said:

So I will have to wait until later |

I connected earlier, and was able to set it up through Berkeley. I can download work from my queue under that account, zip up a couple of wu's, send it to anyone who wanted to start and one could drop the folders in SetiDriver to start work with. After that, connections to team queues should be ok.

Activity is noted on the account. Apparently Berkeley is receiving completed wu's intermitently.

|
paulGranpa PaulPremium,MVM,ExMod 2006 join:2001-07-14 | reply to Liontaur Classic. There seems to be no way to keep control of an account like this under Boinc. If you post the account ID in public, anyone can gain control of the acount, it seems.

PhoenixDown-- Wants FIOSPremium join:2003-06-08 Fresh Meadows, NY kudos:1 | reply to Liontaur Is it possible to change the account I am crunching for? I have a seti installed but I was using it for the 5 in 4 effort and have since gone back to my other projects. -- www.pulsetoday.com -- marketing forums! |

paulGranpa PaulPremium,MVM,ExMod 2006 join:2001-07-14 | Easiest way is to start a new install, or delete all work units from the Seti folder, then reconnect with spy/driver or however you had it set up. It will ask you for the account name again, then you use the honor guard account. All your work units are tagged with your account name currently.

| reply to Liontaur Anyone given thought to creating a BOINC version of the Honor Guard In Memoriam Account?
With Berk getting a new DB Server and making real noise now about transitioning over all users, Roelof may very well be the last recipient of the 'classic' Honor Guard.
Was it MgKnight or InsUW who originally created it? |

The best we can do with BOINC is to make up another team (which falls to Ron) named something like BBR Honor Guard in Memoriam, then we'd have to either make up a new account and join it to that team or quit Starfire and join that team with our current accounts. I think I prefer making up a new account though.
