Re: PA govt. Inc. "You people." Heh. Ross Perot school of debate...
So according to your logic(if you could call it that), those who pay more in taxes get more say in government? So Bill Gates would get 100,000 votes while the poor sap who works at Starbucks gets one? And then Bill gets to write the laws too, since he saw fit to have more money that most other citizens? American Airlines and Clear Channel would get to pick our next congressmen?
If you had read my post, you'd see that I "couldn't care less" if Philly or Pittsburgh or Lancaster or Erie got as long as schools are in good shape, roads aren't fallling apart (*cough*South St. bridge*cough*), and there are enough cops, doctors & firemen to do their jobs. I pay taxes just like you. Yes, it'd be a bad idea for Philly to do wireless before taking care of their business. (Would you let your heat get cut off so you can pay your broadband bill?)
My point being was that...corporations...should...not...write...laws. Period. No matter how much they pay in taxes. The Constitution says we are a government "of the people," not "of the company." |
