Re: Any EVDO users here?

hi all,

wow... kinda neat to see people speaking about our services and site... "any press is good press.. right "

anyhow.. couple of things... yes...

1) You CAN get the ANTENNA that we sell for $259 cheaper ... even $30.

BUT..

the one we sell at our site IS differnet... the antenna is the same... BUT the Coupling Cabling is TOTALLY different.. we took a mediocre $30 antenna and turned it into a pure-bred EVDO Dedicated and Tuned... Minimal resistance antenna.

2) thanks VERYYY much for the benefit of the Doubt DumbWaldo... appreciate... i will say though the that 3.7 MBPS speed is a speed that I personally verified and pushed...

it is accomplished by

a) Optimizing PROXY Settings
this is crucial due to the "tolken ring - like" Verizon data network setup... if you do NOT customize your Proxy setup to the DEDICATED Verizon Wireless Proxy (and this does NOT happen when you install the Drivers) then you are looking at massive ping times, and latency...

b) compression
but... this is Real full data compression... NON LOSSY.
in otherwords... yes.. .the compression does LOOSE data in GIF and JPG images... BUT... if you are downloading an application from cnet or the web... you can take a 10MB Executible App file and have it on your desktop within 30seconds...

c) Tuning your system to sync with the Verizon System... thats all.

so .. if you want... try the Premium Config for $199... if you're not satisfied... you get 100% of your money back...

just be honorable about it though... if it works... please admit that it works and dont lie just to get your money back... believe me... it happens to us all the time.

The honest folks are the ones that really make it a joy to be in this industry... thanks... robert kim...

did you notice i did not say anything to turbomkt? thats because the speed he is showing is actually possible. its faster than the average speeds i quoted and IMHO not likely to be that fast as the service grows in subscribers but that is a realistic and achievable speed. what you are claiming is impossible and it is irresponsible to lead others to believe what you are saying.

either your equipment is flawed, your method of testing is flawed or you are just plain misrepresenting something because that speed is simply not possible.

the ev-do specification has a maximum BUST speed of 2.4 Mb/s.

in addition to the fact that you think you have broken a technical limitation of the technology your supposed results ignore the fact that at this time verizon only has their EV-DO towers connected to a T-1 connection effectivley halving the possible speeds.

under the most ideal situations available on the verizon network the best speed you could possibly achieve today would be 1.5 Mbs, the speed of the connection going to the tower.

sorry but that speed is impossible and i think it is very irresponsible to promote such bad information in your desire to make a buck. or maybe you have some better explination for disagreeing with the entire industry that agrees the top BURST speed achievable on ev-do is 2.4 Mb/s. or maybe you have a better explination of how you shattered the physical limitation at 1.54Mb/s on the T-1 line that is connected to the EV-DO tower.

or maybe you just lied to make a sale.

Testing methods could have something to do with the test results. I could see overly high data rates with compressible data, assuming that data compression is used not only on the EV-DO interface, but the T-1's as well. I do agree that the results do not agree with the physical device limits, and should not be considered legit.
