What operating system are you using?

For WIN98 go settings, control panel, and double click Network. It will show if TCP/IP is installed. If it's not you can install TCP/IP from here also

No, I am have all the protocols setup. All of the settings are correct. But I can't get an internet connection. Yet I am able to ping IP addresses. When I started half-life it said TCP/IP was disabled and I already have the protocol installed. And I have tried reinstalling it. I also bought a second NIC which didn't do anything.

can you ping: 216.32.74.50 ? thats yahoo.com, try typing that IP into you address bar in explorer/nav, if it works and you get the page, then your DNS servers aren't set up. If so get the DNS server addresses from your ISP and load them in TCPIP properties.
Now that I wrote that I dont thinks that the problem, but hey, I tried! let us know.
