Anon | Summary: Great Network Service : Mediocre Bells All ISPS have the good and the bad. Let me say that I joined Savvis basically for one reason: To get off Covad in my regional area. I was sick of 60% uptime records and high latencies on connections. My expectations were simple: for a business DSL dont go down...ever. What I got: 99.9% uptime, great customer service for technical problems (they call me BEFORE my network monitoring pages me) and very low latency on the DSL connection to almost anywhere in the global Internet. DNS requests (changes) are answered promptly and correctly, although once I did catch a typo before it was implemented. I would like to see web interfaces to make some of these changes on my time and not theirs.
What I did not get:
Mail Forwarding(Store and Forward), Web Hosting, and some of the other niceties of a "full service ISP"
With so many people abandoning DSL for a more stable (and more expensive) traditional solution for business connectivity, I would recommend they try Savvis first. |
