Stevens Point, WI | java2, Netscape 7.2 and Firefox Lately,and probably before lately, I've had many problems w/ Netscape, and now trying firefox 1 as well, and running applets. Sometimes they work and other times they just stall the whole machine to almost the point of complete lockup (XP home w/ SP2). Now, since I do have a lot of baggage in the registry from old browsers and java versions I always assumed it was a registry issue. BUT I am now trying to deal with it in a different manner. I've shut off caching in the Java console and this seems to have stabilized the situation (for now, been down this road before). Anyone w/ problems w/ Java and the above browsers cares to shut the cache off in Java and report your results it would be appreciated. |

Stevens Point, WI | Well, the cache solution isn't the answer. Netscape 7.2 chocked on an applet today bringing my browser to a non-responding condition again. Oh well. Least windows stays alive but it takes some time for it to start fully responding again. |
