He almost killed one other guy he had in a head lock, the guy got away giving the cop an opening to shoot Nathan (the killer) to death. If anyone thinks heavy metal provokes violence is someone that never listened to it before. Like I said, I have been to many many shows in my life all over and have never met anyone more crazy then I have seen at super markets. So if someone shot Sting to death because he left The Police, does that make the type of music he plays attract lunatics too? It is an unfortunate thing that happened.

not so by the way, actually---seems that that may have been the motive for the shooting---the nut was a pantera fan angry that the abbotts left. and the fact that there was coverage of the lennon shooting anniversary had to contribute to him getting the idea. that he killed three other people unrelated to the decision to leave pantera also makes it that much more tragic.

How screwed does someone have to be to do such psychotic behavoir? what is this world coming to? I know there is a risk in everything you in everyday life, but this is just rediculous now. Must we all think about getting killed in such abnormal behavior going to a rock concert? I feel bad for the 3 innocent fans that were killed too. :( whatever happened to simple moshing and broken noses? :) I got to many Deathmetal shows in NJ, LI, and Manhattan and this is something I thought would never happen. sorry to bring the forum down with horrible news, this is a tragic event that really sucks. btw, he is the ex-guitarist from Pantera.
