Java thinks I'm chinese

I have tried to run speed tests etc. when i try to install java it keeps coming up in Chinese. I downloaded the English version but it thinks I am Chinese. My stepdaughter is from china and has exposed my computer to the language. Now it thinks it Chinese. How can I install java in English and stop the Chinese translation????

You need to set the System Locale. From Sun's website:

1. Click Start > Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Regional and Language Options icon. The Regional and Language Options dialog box appears.
3. Click the Advanced tab. (If there is no Advanced tab, then you are not logged in with administrative privileges.)
4. Under the Language for non-Unicode programs section, select the desired language from the drop down menu.
