ravenink : BellSouth is not throttling your bandwidth for using a P2P client. Possibly your upload is being saturated by connections effectively hitting you with a DOS? I would try setting it not to upload to test and see if that makes a difference.

anon : I have bellsouth fast access 1.5down, 256up, and have just noticed something. I've recently installed e-donkey, although I am only using it to connect to one, private server. Whenever it is running, my internet slows to a crawl (to the point that aim will occasionally disconnect and websites time out.) Immediately upon closing edonkey, the problem goes away. Is Bellsouth throttling back access while using p2p clients?
I know some Universities are doing things like this, but didn't think Bellsouth was.
