Possibly your upload is being saturated by connections effectively hitting you with a DOS? I've recently installed e-donkey, although I am only using it to connect to one, private server. Whenever it is running, my internet slows to a crawl (to the point that aim will occasionally disconnect and websites time out.) Immediately upon closing edonkey, the problem goes away. Is Bellsouth throttling back access while using p2p clients?
