Is this newsworthy for BBR?

This has nothing to do with the telecommunications industry other than mentioning the word "cable". This deserves a blurb in the local paper...

In a way it does. We are all used to cable companies acting like used car salesmen, and the homeowner doesn't trust them or the paper the adjuster wanted him to sign releasing Cox from further liability for a fire they caused. The PR people got in first promising the world, then the used car guys are going to try and back out. Old story. The same way all cable companies promise service.

I think it has everything to do with it since the Cox installer is also the same individual who would do home installs of the cable internet connection. I know if I get cable installed, I will at least have 1 family member per room with a fire extinguisher just in case. But seriously dude, get off your horse, BBR staff can editorialize anything they want.

It's about a cable company, so it's related.

It's funny how many posts are about why something shouldn't be news/or reported on/etc.

That is not a very good assessment in the sense that any contractor would ask for a limit of liability.

I question why he dealt directly with cox and not his own insurance? My home owners plan would cover just such litigation.

I'm sorry if I sounded like I was on a horse, but I assure it's very difficult to post from a horse. What I was getting at is that this sounds like a freak incident and not something that affects the cable industry as a whole. BBR is certainly free to publish what they want, but they also set up this forum for discussions on what they publish and I'm just making use of it. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Well, you and they did succeed! I didn't think you were on a horse, but it was begging for a reply
