Re: Download Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) Now!

It found 3 things that Spybot S&D and Ad-aware missed...looks good so far, but then again they are really just re-engineering already good software.

They have cookie scanning disabled in the beta.

They haven't really said when/if cookie scanning will be enabled. Maybe next beta release? You may want to visit the General section of »communities.microsoft.com/newsgr···sLCID=us
and make a post about it. That newsgroup is monitored by Microsoft. No registration or anything required to participate.

Why can't you visit? The newsgroup is also web based so all you need is your web browser to post at »communities.microsoft.com/newsgr···sLCID=us

Too bad M$ isn't going to keep this program free. But we all know it's all about the money now do't we. M$ want's to get into the fight against spyware and they will start charging for the program. I think that's kind of silly but hey we all know we'll end up buying it.

Have you seen or read something that stated there would be a cost? Paid vs Free has been asked many times since this beta became public. AFAIK, Microsoft has not determined whether there will be a cost for it or not. If I had to make a guess right now, I'd say it will be free.

Nope I read just rumors of it going to be paid. I also read that it was going to be free. I just have a feeling it's going to be paid but you never know they might suprise us all and make a free. I haven't even tried it yet. It's a beta and I'm not too keen on messing with beta versions of any software.
