Re: Download Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) Now! I only used the original Giant for a few days on my XP rig just to get a feel of it. Well, there are some differences that I have noticed right off the bat with the Microsoft beta.
1. Does not scan nearly as many files as the original. Don't have a concrete number, but it's in the tens of thousands. The program has been neutered.
2. In advanced options, File shredder is gone.
3. In advanced options, System Inoculation has been changed to Browser Hijack Restore, or it took it's place in the GUI.
I don't know exactly what is going on with the scanning process. It's definitely not scanning the number of files that the original Giant scanned. Have used both of the scan options with everything ticked, and my conclusion is the scanning process has been changed, but to what degree I don't know. |
