(not the equipment, but the service)...sorry if its hard to understand me heh....thanks

Who told you they have bad service and long waiting lines?

You should use their equipment, as you will need to know your computer language to reprogram your modem to be compatable with their service, if at ally your modem supports it.

Do you already have MCI phone service. If so, it will be a week or two tops to get you set up. If not, that will be the first step. You have to have their phone service. Since you've been on AOL dialup till now, you can wait to get a great deal like $20 DSL. I mean, you must be a very patient person to still be on dial up...

Soapm, is the $20 DSL dynamic or static? If it is dynamic, how long are the lease times? Does your IP change frequently?

Lastly, I am currently paying Verizon $40 per month for my POTS line and additional charge for caller ID etc.. In a nut shell, I have the freedom package with Verizon and have the 3.0/768 service from them. My bill is high and would like to compare the two providers.

I did have Cyberonic which is an MCI reseller so I do know the UUnet backbone is very reliable, but left only because of a better deal. Do you think MCI would be able to offer me a static IP for an adjusted dollar amount?

Thanks, Miguel

The neighborhood is all dynamic. Your leaase will remain until you recycle your modem though my IP address usually stays the same even then. Not always. You would have to move to the smalll business department to get static. If you are considering this, I would suggest you call (800) 465-7187 and ask about MCI Advantage. It is their start into VOIP and will give you phones and internet for one price. Price vaires by area and can be considerably cheaper if one the cable companies they have deals with so happens to be your cable company.
