| more cable ISPS should offer more than 512K up For me the sweet spot for upload is around 768KBPS. Verizon DSL lines do that quite nicely, so if you want upload and you're in Verizon areas, you've got it made. However the only US cable companies I see over speeds above 384KBPS are Adelphia, optimum online, Cox, and RR in some areas. The only cable companies with speed packages above 512KBPS that I'm aware of are optimum online and Cox, and business RR. Why aren't more cable providers offering upstream of 768K? And to my knowledge, Cox is the only cable company on the West coast offering a 768KBPS teer to their residential customers! We need to get more cable providers like crapcast, I mean comcast to offer upstream at or above 768KBPS. And finally why can't SBC offer upstream of 768K? Why did they stick to such an odd rate of 608K? To me 768K is a sweet upload speed that everyone should offer. |
 | RCN is 800k upload for most of their cable services (5mbit,7mbit, upcoming 10mbit!) Not the cheap 768/256 package |
