So far

I've been happy with google. I don't mind them getting (if that is what they want to do) into the Broadband provider business.

I would really like to see where this goes. If anybody has any more information please let me know.

Did anyone ever consider that Google may just need someone with this experience for internal purposes? I could easily see them needing this expertise if they are planning on regional data centers to house their service.

Most of the big investment banks also have fiber experts in house but it doesn't mean that Citibank is going into the telecom business.

But if they did - could you imagine those commercials? haha! I love their credit protection commercials.

Google has been doing things right so far with their e-mail service and their website. I would not mind seeing them go into fiber broadband. Seems they have more of a chance of getting it done than verizon :\

Same here. Whenever I input a search term I get results immediately. And when I say immediately, I mean as soon as I am unclicked, I have a results page. My connection is 1500/384...

Can't comment on applicability of results to my search; But the searches normally take less time than it takes for me to blink.

If Google needs faster access for their operations, then the shareholders will pay. But if that makes Google more popular, they will profit. A new public company has many new horizons and possibilities. I am thinking of becoming an investor myself...

maybe they are looking to setup regional search servers that will need fiber for a connection.

Yes everything except for glaring security holes and allowing virus to spread...

I am curious; why can Google do no wrong yet everything MS does is super evil?
