Re: samsung cordless phone

Using the phone in San Diego would still be illegal because of the fact your handset is transmitting on a frequency that it's not supposed to. As long as one transmitting device or another is in the US, it still falls under FCC regulation.

Show me where this system is illegal. If I go online and order/buy a phone that is shipped to my US home, I will be damned if i don;t use it until the FEDS come and physically take it away.

If you buy a handgun (which is also legal in the US) and walk into the street and shoot your neighbor's kid you would be breaking the law just the same. But you probably won't do it (one can only hope). So why would you get one of these phones, which doesn't have a notice on it saying it's blessed for use in the US by the FCC, and set it up and use it, just because you can buy it?

The question isn't whether it is legal to buy the product, the question is whether it is legal to use the product. And just because you can do one, it doesn't entitle you to do the other.

How many more idiots aiming laser pointers at airplanes does the world really need?

Have been using a identical phone for about 6 months branded under the Senao make, Identical package, 2 blue handsets etc. These look very similar to the 'Samsung' phones. Luckily they are legal here and work well. At the last count more than 50 have been sold in a population of about 3000. Range is nowhere near as stated but I have heard of people using them to about 20 miles. Have just lost a handset though which renders the system useless as there is no way of disabling 1 handset. Therefore if any body finds it its free phonecalls for them off your line. But I am still looking to purchase another hence my reading this posting. Does anybody know any one else who sell them?

They will not only take the phone away, they will take YOU away. As they should.

Are you always this cavalier about breaking the law?
