sipcpePremium join:2004-01-06 Seattle, WA | FX-300 CID & FX300 GSM We are putting the final touches on our new products at SIPCPE and would like some initial feedback from those in this forum before we move to production. We have listened to our customers feedback over the past year and had made numerous improvements including a volume adjustment feature on the FX-300.
1. FX-300(CID) Builds on the FX-200 feature set with a new phone port and a 30 number CID invite list. With the new phone port it is now very easy/convenient to share the one attached handset with both your PSTN line and your VOIP line/service. The unit will provide barge in protection so when you are on a pstn call an incoming voip call will not be answered and go to voice mail. With the CID invite list you will have better control over access to either your pstn line and/or your voip service. So callers on your invite list will be immediately connect to the pstn or voip port respectively all other callers will be connected to the phone port. Callers not on your invite list will not notice any difference on your lines.
2. FX-300 GSM This unit will have a built in GSM modem, a phone port, and a FXS and a FXO port. With both an FXS and an FXO port there many use options. With most GSM networks ie Cingular/AT&T you can get an additinal SIM chip for less than $10mo. Install this second SIM chip in the FX-300 GSM and you now have free access to your voip service from your other mobile phones. (in almost all cases calls from cell phone to cell phnone on the same family or busines plan are free) It will have the same features as above but initially without CID invite list. So for all those who have or plan to cut their pstn line and go cellular this unit will give you the ability to remotely access your voip sevice and in most cases it will be a free call. It will function as your basic FWT but also plug directly into the phone port on your voip IAD so your cellular and your voip calls are also directed/accessed via the one handset.
Any feedback will be appreciated. |

 O @uk.tiscali.co | Great idea !
Regarding the FX300 GSM, I would need STUN support, CID authentification (i.e deny access to users not in the list) then if possible Call Detail Record for incoming calls. Could you give more information about pricing? please email at o(underscore)olivier(at)hotmail(dot)com |

Walla join:2004-02-26 Israel | reply to sipcpe I use the FX200 extensively. The barge protection is definitely needed! Will it work in both directions?? The CID list is also a great idea.
Regarding the GSM unit - I would be very happy to be a beta tester )
Any pricing?
Thanks |

sipcpePremium join:2004-01-06 Seattle, WA | reply to sipcpe There seems to be some confusion on the FX-300 GSM. It is not an IAD. It connects to your IAD's FXS or FXO port and/or connects to your PBX. |

vonsenJust BecausePremium join:2005-01-06 | reply to sipcpe Excellent, I have several fx200's and assuming attractive pricing can find homes for both forthcoming models. While I don't know what price point, feature set or eeprom size we are working with here.. some desired features would include, default call forwarding plus password. Sorely missed on the fx200. Call disconnection after three password failures to discourage would be hackers. A call waiting type tone to indicate an incoming call on another line. Or at least bi-directional barge in protection. In many cases people will want the voip line to have precidence, as the lower cost long distance package is often on the voip side. I don't want pstn calls interrupting my voip ones.
CID invite is nice, but I hope that you aren't relying on CID only for authentication. I want to option to still choose to require a password in addition to the CID invite. And the CID invite should be defeatable. Not every user will want this feature. Perhaps serial port access? So that I can have a PC script rotate passwords? Or at least strong password capability (extended askey character set).
GSM capability to bridge cellulars should be popular. My most desired feature though would be 2, preferable 3 line ringing support. That is the ability to have incoming calls on two or three lines ring the handset. And ideally be able to pass the active call through to the handset if the default line is not currently active. For the most part, I think that the outgoing line can be a fixed choice. If indeed you need any beta testers, let me know (WA state).
