Then you've either had significant updates to Win95, or installed DCOM ( »www.microsoft.com/com/default.mspx ), or else you know something developer Ben Goodger DOESN'T know, because he admits to the Firefox problem, and to the corresponding FALSE system requirements, right on page two of that thread:

Yeah we show that dialog on clean Windows 98 systems too... I think you need a few service packs or another app that includes the right version of the dlls. We will get around to fixing this bug eventually so you don't have to do that.

So maybe they've fixed it by now. But I kind of doubt it. They've been too busy raising money for strange "NY Times ads" and getting hired by Google to actually work on the program.
