<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/679780"><b>kiokyau</b></A> : Almost all of the new installations for Streamyx are set at 512/256 kbps.. so the customers have to call up TMnet and ask them to configure the speed to 1024/384 kbps if that is the package they have applied for..  but please bare in mind that some houses which are around ~5km from the exchange, they might not be able to get the 1mbps package because the distance factor will cause the link to be unstable, so you have to settle for the 512kbps package..  try to check with Telekom to see the distance from your house to the exchange and if you're able to get the 1mbps package..]]></description>

If you didnt get 1MB after you have got your streamyx, u should call them and inform them on this occasion.<br><br>If you got 1MB straight when you activated your account, you are considered lucky as they have configured the right speed for you during jumpering process.<br><br>Like previously when there were only 512/128 and 384/128, 384/128 was configured by default for all application. That why at that time, most of the users just got 384/128. They need to call and tell them baru they will reconfigure again.<br><br>For those who doesn't know, they pay extra RM22 but at the same speed with RM66 package.]]></description>

If Telekom wants to avoid further 'loss', it then has to buck up. I think this is how the capitalist world works, unless Telekom thinks we're in Cuba or N. Korea.<br><br>XEQ.]]></description>

To say that 88 package is still 512kbps is not correct. This only applies to the existing subcriber, not new applications. Took me 2 days arguing and pressuring TMnet about this issue.<br><br>You guys at streamyx helpline really should get some proper training and product knowlegde ASAP.<br> ]]></description>

Juz signed up.<br><br>For info I am working at Streamyx help line, 9515, but please DONT ask about it.<br>What I can tell u is only this. The upgrading of 512 to 1Mbps was meant to end by Dec 04 but due to a lot of new application, the upgrading was delayed as the contractors employed by Telekom needed to do the new installation for new subscribers.<br><br>This caused a lot of upgrading went hay wire. Nobody could tell who was upgraded and who wasnt. Even those who r working here unable to tell anything for sure. Our new date line is now end of March 05. Our Telekom people were not properly informed on anything causing a lot of the subscriber were sent around creating dissatisfaction. <br><br>As this is not enough the resellers are simply saying that the buyers r given 1Mbps when they apply when infact they r given only 512, create more and more angry subscribers.<br><br>In the midst of this havoc the boss (luckily we are not directly employed by Telekom) came with the bright idea of upgrading the 384 to 512kbps. <br><br>Imagine that, those who r having the speed of 512, some pay RM66 and some RM88. Who the hell wont scream. <br><br>Guyz if uany one of u call us pls understand our situation.:huh::(<br><br>p/s: the RM88 package is still 512 kbps. Its juzz that they r given FREE upgrading. When they will be given is still up to Telekom.]]></description>
