Re: Recommendation for Good Case Painter?? No answer for you, but I have been eyeing that same case for about a month or so now since I found it on the web.
Been waiting for reviews of it on Newegg, but none so far. I plan on getting the black one.
Have you though about a quality auto body shop? Some of those painters might even do it on the side, something to look into.

Several people have suggested an auto body shop to me. I might do that. I've sent an email to Tekido requesting a quote for painting the case. If they want too much I might start looking into a local shop. -- "While being tolerant and open-minded can be considered laudable under some circumstances, the problem with many of those who label themselves tolerant these days, is they have become so open-minded they have let their brains fall out." |

Either you love it or hate. In my opinion, this is the best looking PC case on the market today, its that simple. It definitely borrows themes from the Mac cases, plus Chenbros own X-Spider cases. But this case is head and shoulders above any other case Chenbro makes. Expensive, yes it is, but quality always costs. People are willing to pay $$$ for a top-end CPU or graphics card that will be outdated in a year. A nice case like this will last you a long time.
Some of the nice features:
(1) The snap in and out, front and rear, 120mm fan holders w / built in washable fan filters. It takes about 5 seconds to remove the fan holder and another 10 seconds to remove the fan from the holder. No screws are needed.
(2) The top case handles are very nice; it makes it much easier to move the case around.
(3) The optical and floppy bay drive locks. Unlock the lock, slide the drive into the bay, flip the lock, its secured. Total time 10 seconds.
(4) The Integrated Cable Management system allows you to hide cables easier.
(5) The HD bay slides in and out in seconds. Plus it can be positioned with the drives facing forward, toward the right or the left side of the case. Though if you face it left or right you will reduce airflow a bit. The HD bay also has grommets to isolate the HD drives.
(6) The side window is actually removable from the side panel. That would make it easier and cheaper to replace if damaged, or to tint the window.
(7) The case is easy to disassemble if you wanted to paint it. Comes apart into the main case frame, side and front panels, mobo tray and about 15 smaller pieces.
(8) The mobo tray has well built studs permanently affixed. Not those horrible spring clips like in some cases.
The case is well designed, but has a few flaws.
(1) The fans are AWFUL. See the Anandtech review. Ditch the fans first thing. Note that you must use fans that have an unobstructed side, in other words nothing between the front and back edges of the fans. I had to Dremel my Vantec Stealths to make them fit. Look at Neweggs pictures of the 120mm Stealth and you will see a small vertical piece between the top and bottom. That has to be removed. Same with any similar fan.
(2) The side panels are too flimsy in a case at this price point. Im using AcoustiPack to make mine more solid.
(3) The front mobo connectors are not modular like in the Lian Li PC-6X series.
(4) Lack of matching drive bezel covers. Promised but not yet to market.
(5) Top fan should be a 120mm fans also, not a 92mm.
Some of these flaws might appear to be nits, but at this price there shouldnt be any. Overall a very nice case. I plan to buy another and get it custom painted later this year. Hopefully by then the drive bezels will be on the market. Also a side panel without a window is available if you dont desire a window. -- "While being tolerant and open-minded can be considered laudable under some circumstances, the problem with many of those who label themselves tolerant these days, is they have become so open-minded they have let their brains fall out." |
