| Simply put If cox where to block or disable my access to Vonage then they would in a sense be removing the single largest reason I have them for my isp. I turned off my landline and can not get DSL, at least as far as I know, so Cox is it. Now if Vonage goes away then I have to reconnect my landline and in that case I might as well go back to DSL. -- 4 More years and we won't have a country. |

mymac join:2002-03-02 Parker, CO | YES, VONAGE DOES SUCK! WHY YOU MAY ASK? I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER FOR MY NUMBER TRANSFER!! I HAVE THE STUPID THING HOOKED UP TO 1 PHONE LINE. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THEY ARE ESCALTING WITH THE CARRIER! I GUESS IF YOU WANT TO SWITCH PHONE NUMBERS IT'S GOOD, BUT DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR EXISTING PHONE MUNBER!!!!!!!!!! |

| reply to mymac Vonage puts the request in with Verizon, SBC, Bell South, or whomever your current provider is. It can take forever if the ILEC doesn't want to give it up. Your best bet at this point would probably be to file a complaint with the FCC at www.fcc.gov. |

| reply to mymac I used to sell AT&T Broadband (now Comcast) VoIP service. Number Porting was a problem about 20% of the time, and almost always NOT the new carriers fault. If you are having a problem geting the number ported, i would suggest calling Qwest and rasing hell... -- Pura Vida! |
