im tired of the cellphone whiners

Please people I can see people not being allowed in to use a phone in a movie of performance. But on bus, train or plane that is no reason to ban cellphones. Then problem is that cellphones dont work properly so people need to yell in it. What is the difference between people have a conversation with another person at a resturant or on a bus. I know I know you dont like the one way conversation well the conversation doesn't include you dont listen. If someone talks in a normal tone there is nothing wrong with a cell conversation.

Well, WHO's fault is that?? The Cellphone makers or the idiot screaming in my ear sitting next/across to/from me on a flight who has no manners. If he can't use his defective equipment, all the better for the rest of us who enjoy the peace & quiet a cell ban brings to a flight...

See #1 Above. People really have no choice but to listen when Mr. Drunk businessman in coach is screaming at his wife/girlfriend/lover at 35,000 feet...1 way, 2 way conversations mean nothing when they're being conducted at 50 or 60dB and fueled by several mixed drinks.....

Let's just leave the existing rules alone shall we? Why fix what isin't broke?

Wrong, The problem is that people think that yelling into the cell phone fixes whatever problem they are having with their cell phone...including not being able to hear the person on the other end.

I've found that a good way to get people to be more sensitive to the where and how of their having a cell phone conversations is to begin talking loudly about whatever the person on the cell is talking about.

They'll be PO'd about you paying attention but they'll also either cut short the call or at least lower their voice.

I have no problem with removing the cell phone regs on aircraft (they're mostly a sham anyway), but in return people on cell phones need to learn how to not be total jackasses when using said phone. Problem is we can't even get people who need 2 seats (nor the airlines who continue to permit this practice with a shrug) to respect the fact that sitting halfway on their neighbors lap is inappropriate, which in my mind ranks a much higher inconvenience.
