Re: SBC lowers pricing to $19.95 w/o bundling LD I tried to get the Pro plan for 29.99, I am on the Express right now, but they said I was too far away, 11000, have to be 9000. So i then tried to get the Express for 19.99, but they said that I have to have the long distance package.
I tried again the next day and was once again told I couldn't get it, that was yesterday. This was the retention department that told me no this second time.
Guess I will keep trying to get it. Any advice?

I've given up. I tried a few more times and everytime they say I can't do it and have to get the LD plan. I just wish they could get their stories straight over there.

sbc is great. I called sbc today for the 19.95 they said they will lower it plus they said they can lower the phone bill by 5.00 with the same package that i have. Total savings about $10.00 a month for calling them. Just call this number for the rention department. 1-877-870-9582 thats the number they gave me for the department and they put me on 19.95 within under 1 min and lowered my phone bill also. I went from 26.95 to 19.95 for dsl.
note be sure to call by tomorrow. I think tomorrow is the last day for the 19.95 promoation. |

The young lady asked to put me on hold and came back and said that she had her manager's approval to give me the new rate. Some of them won't budge until you basically tell them you're thinking of going to a competitor. In a way, it's all a marketing game ... |

Hooray! I had tried calling the normal sbc number twice before and got shot down. I called the number that shawn gave above (1-877-870-9582) and this wonderful rep named Melissa gave it to me in under a minute.

Well, I just got my DSL down to 19.95 plus tax about 21.50 roughly...called the 1877-8709582 number and get it all set, but they did ask me about LD which i have none..And that it is a one year agreement with a 200 dollar early termination fee.

Update I just spoke to SBC sales rep and she at first told me i could only get the 29.95 deal cause the 19.95 deal was only for month of march but i told her that SBC yahoo is still advertiseing the 19.95 deal still as of today so why can't i still get it. Welp she of course asked to hold and came back and said that yes i can get it if it's still being shown online and was like that should be gone already so kewl i got express now at 6-7 bucks less a month so its still on till the drop the ad in yahoo.Oh i made order on april fools day fooled themselves didn't they. |

I believe this information to be current because there web site looks very different today than it did yesterday. |

I called the redemption # was put on hold twice,
after mentioning mt renewal approaching , and my friend quitting then being invited back at the new rate , i got it

No go here, tried 3 times and they're not budging, and I haven't had the time to truly butt heads and be on hold forever yet.
When I finally do they're not going to like me because I just saw they reneged on the promise to cut the rate for us here prior to this deal as well. So I'm not going to be a happy camper over the phone... and I could care less if an offer is still open or not.
Way to drop the ball SBC.

My $26.95 year went up and SBC never called but they started charging me $49.95 "with no confirmation"? 
I asked about the $19.95 plan and I was told "no luck"
so now I'm back to $26.95 |

Lincolnwood, IL | To all those who've almost given up, don't. My friend had the same problem, always told he can't get it or he needed LD package BS. I told him to suck it up and be more firm on the next call. Rejected 4 times. Then I told him to just say something like this with a pissy voice, "if you can't provide the service that I require then I would like to cancel my current dsl account immediately and just move over to cable, I bet they would be very happy and give me better customer service with no hassles about LD."
No sooner did he finish that thought when the rep says, "I'm sorry you feel that way, let me put you on hold and ask my manager" and the rest is history. The manager says okay, then they confirm your number and do a distance test and say you qualify. End of story. I don't know what holds more weight, the cancellation bit or that your gonna get cable. Anyway, just keep trying and be more affirmative. |
