Re: WOWSBC lowers pricing to $19.95 w/o bundlingLD WOW, That was easy! I called the 877-870-9582, Biting my fingernails on hold for less then 1 1/2 minutes.. I get greeted professionally by a sweet sounding voice named Laura. I asked to be re-rated and am willing to verbally agree to another 1 year of service. Laura verified me and asked me to hold for one moment (about 30 seconds). She pulled up my account and said this would only take a minute! Surprised, she says OK Mr. XXXX, your current rate for SBC Pro service is 35.99 after your promotional discount and starting the 03-10 (7-days) you will be re-rated to the newest promotional offering from SBC of 29.99 after discounts. $200 early termination still applies to this contract as did the previous one and to be your completely satisfied; is there anything else I can help you with?? Stunned for a second, I just verified this doesn't effect my current phone service, she said kindly, no sir! My God.. Thanks to whoever posted!!!!! less then 3 minutes I got handled. Without Touching my local package (which is NOT All Distance)

The person I got into contact with at the same 877-870-9582 was Tammy. Told her I've been a dsl customer for going onto 5 years, currently on the pro pkg and want to re-rate to the new 29.99 offering, agreeing to a new 1 year contract.
She stated to me that it is only available with the 'all distance' package. She did state that they were told just this morning that even existing customers are now allowed to get the offering with all disatance.
I told her she is probably not aware of it but there is a very busy sbc forum at dslreports.com. I said that in fact, there are official sbc techs that work the forum resolving issues for customers so it is definitely an accepted medium by sbc. I said that I am reading thread after thread in the forum where people are being allowed to re-rate with no other changes on their account.
She comes back with, "ok then, I will put this change through for you since others are being given the same thing anyhow". Didn't get put on hold for her to check with anyone else or anything. I explicitly verified with her that no other changes were being made to my telephone service/billing package. She stated "nope, just re-upping your dsl at the new rate for a year at 29.99". -- abit nf7-s v2.0, xpM 2600+ {210*12}, 2x512mb corsair xms pc3200c2, 2x 36.7g wd raptor s-ata raid 0, 80g maxtor ide/ata133, antec true 430 psu, ati radeon 9800 pro, plextor 16x dual layer dvd/rw, lite-on 52x cdrw/dvd combo, antec 10 bay case, win xp pro | | | Thursday I called SBC to try to re-rate my pro package at 29.99 but the sales lady would only let me rerate at 36.95, so I said it is better than nothing and I rerated at 36.95. I then kept reading this forum and watching everyone else get rerated with their current package so I decided to call SBC this morning and talked to KAT. I told her I was currently on the PRO package and would like to get re-rated to 29.95. I told her I saw the article on dslreports.com and that existing customers in the forum were getting re-rated. She said she will be happy to make the change for me. I couldn't belive it! I got the 29.95 and my 1 year contract extended another year. So I hung up and was thinking "OH CRAP" I hope she didn't add the ALL DISTANCE! So I called back to make sure KAT didn't add it and AMY said that KAT did not make any mention of it in the order and nothing will change on my POTS line. Thanks for the person who found the article and posted on this forum. you saved me $120 bucks a year. | | |
| | I called yesterday and spoke to Dani. At first she told me that the $19.95 deal was only for new customers. Current customers could only get it if they switched to the all distance plan. After mentioning that several people on broadband reports had gotten the the deal without having to include or change the long distance plan, she said ok and gave me the $19.95 rate. | |
