what is wrong with this large providers? do they not want customers? it sure boggles my mind. -- Webmaster Steve - - - - - - - - - - - - »ppnhosting.com »sphenterprizes.com »pokemonpalace.net |

Verizon (whom I have had dealings with) seems to think that they are the only option and have the "high and mighty" attitude.
"If you don't like it, go elsewhere" seems to be the new mantra of a lot of companies lately and it is very disturbing. |

Not so much customers as control. Once you have that, you can extract as much money as you want. Note that this price increase is only for their non-contractual customers. For another example, take a look at the Muni issue. Companies' feeling that while they can refuse to serve certain areas, they can claim them as their sole territory (for lack of a better word) is at the heart of the problem. |

That's the same attitude I ALWAYS get when talking to their people (their Oregon people, at least), no matter what the issue. "You should consider yourself lucky that we even give you the most basic of voice service. Now go away, we're not going to do anything about your problem, and there's nothing you can do about it." |
