Re: FIOS scheduled for Bronx NY yet? said by Network Guy:I'm tempted to call and ask, but I don't have the time to bother. Sooner or later they will get around to it.
Not like I'm suffering now. I'm raping CV out of their regular asking price for TV and Internet as it is. Sweet having different people in the same household to sign up for double play as a first-time customer every year. nice!! |

 | reply to Network Guy Hey folks
Just got back from my odd job in NJ(security at a front desk) and all we had was "Xstupidty" on the front for the customers and oh boy can they hawk their "Omar Sharif" political slogan "Xfinity is faster then Fios.....because we say so" crap" every 2 hours. jeez. My coworker was loving it because they kept running it and I kept changing the channel and pissing off the Comcast lovers LOL
The best part was this lady said " look sunny Xfinity is the fastest because i get their highest tier at 25 " and i told her "ma'am our break round wifi is from Fios and we get 50/50 enjoy your day". LOL |

 | reply to Network Guy Hey guys any news? |
 | Nothing happening here.It has been very quiet since that flurry of work a few weeks ago.Haven't checked the basement in a while but haven't seen any activity. |
 | Still you are more lucky than us folks in Fordham road |
 | reply to Network Guy Well I was at a family members Apartment in Nj(near Fort Monmouth) and he ditched his xfinity for Fios and dang i was jealous as heck he had the 25/25 package and my ipad and work laptop were flying while working and doing a teleconference call to canada. I wish i had it at home so that streaming netflix without the hick up i get when people bring over their internet connected devices. |
 | reply to Network Guy Guys, i still havn't heard back from the person looking into FIOS deployment areas. While we're waiting is FIOS any where near your blocks? If you live in areas with mostly apt. buildings, Verizon needs owner OK before wiring and this could be the hold up. If theres 3 private houses on a block and 5 apt buildings they will probably wait. |
 | Well pittpete1 they must have gotten OK from our owner as they did install all the breakout boxes on each floor and all the pipe work connecting it all.Right now all the piping (without any wiring in it)goes into the basement to a blank 4'x4' plywood board.Nothing installed there yet. |
 | reply to pittpete1 no such luck on mine. I live in a block that has 2 homes in the front part of it and then we are 8 buildings after that. (5 of the 8 buildings are own by the same company). Also knowing my scumlord i have a feeling they won't give the ok. I wish there was a way to send the city after the scumlord so they can let Verizon in. |

 | reply to Network Guy Ed, go door to door and have all the tenants sign a petition. If theres enough interest I'm sure it will help. They have a franchise obligation to wire all of NYC I know they are following through with it so it should be soon. Verizon is hiring escorts in the city at this point in time. Could be they are heading into the rougher nieghborhoods and need the bodies to watch the trucks while the work is being done. If you have any friends in need of jobs, have them inquire about it. fatal join:2000-12-29 Brooklyn, NY | hi there pittpete1 you seem to know a lot about verizon do you know about how long from the time i get the email saying
''Thank you for your recent inquiry about the availability of FiOS TV in your building.
We have negotiated access to your building and the FiOS TV construction process is underway. FiOS will be in your building soon.
At this time, we are unable to quote a specific date by which you will be able to order FiOS TV service, but we will keep you informed as we reach a firm availability date for your residence.
There is no need to call us to check on status: we will inform you promptly as soon as the service can be ordered.''
till i can order? |
 | reply to pittpete1 I did this with my old super Pete and my scumlord put every road block possible aside from evicting folks. Hence why i wish FIos reps can come here and report on whats the cause of the block and then talk to the city about it |
 | reply to fatal fatal, no way to tell depends on how big your apt bldg is just go look in the bsmt and ask the verizon guys how long i work for Verizon as a field tech upstate btw |
 | reply to Eddy120876 Ed, if the owner won't let them in, it isn't going to get done I'm afraid |
 | pittpete1 that's what we did in our building. The tenants association lady who has lived in my building since she was a child got us all to sign a petition and it seemed to have worked. They put up all the boxes and pipe. They just haven't done anything in the last 2 weeks. I did notice a 1 inch white cable wire tied to the piping in the basement but could not read the the type on the cable. If I get a chance I'll take a picture. |

 | nycdave I saw the pull string and its in the pipe. This is a cable wire tied to the outside of the pipe. Its tied every 6 inches or so to the outside of the pipe and goes into the breakout box here in the cellar. Will have to get a ladder to get a better look at it and the writing on it.It looks like it has wires in it.Its white and maybe as thick as your index finger. |

tito79 join:2010-03-14 Brewster, NY | That white thing you see its a microduct looks like each floor will have there ont then from there they tap for customer . Hopefully you will get gpon installed. |
nycdavePremium,MVM join:1999-11-16 Melville, NY kudos:10 | Only GPON is being installed for new construction going forward, so since microduct is being run to each floor GPON ONT's will be used. |
