I knew this was going to happen because I didn't see any new installation on my building/floor.

Why would they do this? Is it normal for this to happen?

I loved it out there.Every thing is wide open.
Phoenix is another story ,its like New York and hot hot hot.Dry heat so you got to watch your water intake or else you'll dehydrate.

So it maybe true after all that, after so many years of waiting and false starts, my area is getting wired for Fios.

The Cablevision installation is quiet old and its outside the building.All the coax is run from main breakout boxes up to each apartment.I actually had a new cable run from the breakout box to my apartment about 5/6 yrs ago because the shield around the cable was torn.
Not sure what modem I had but it hadn't been change in quiet a while.

Thanks for the info. I remember reading that Verizon dropped their news servers a few years ago buts that's cool since I use forums for information or Bing. I wonder if the slowdowns in your building were due to not everyone having Boost and thus not being on a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. I have Boost Plus and because it requires a DOCSIS 3.0 modem I haven't experienced any slowdowns though the service has been down on the rare occasion.

I really hope that it's coming this time. After all of the misinformation I received in the past it would be good to finally be able to order Fios and ditch Cablevision...not that their service has been bad for me.

Our tenants association lady is probably in her mid 60's and has lived in the building since she was a child.She knows the landlord very well and does get things done most of the time.
She knows the ins and outs of housing and a lot of the laws and what we can and cannot do as tenants.Shes help me out in many ways and in particular when the landlord over charged me on my rent back in 2006/2007 on a 2 year lease.With her help it took a few years but I won the case against the landlord and got triple damages because the landlord out and out lied to the housing authority while fighting the case.
Not many people have someone like her in their building.I feel blessed to have her.

This has been happening to other people in the building and they have been outside the building numerous times working on the boxes and checking the lines.

The security payment thats new but i hope it gets wave off since we been verizon customers since 1991. But if not is ok we will have the money ready. Also will check to see that way I won't run into the battery drain since my building is very quirky when it comes to power lines. I think I will do the same and get the 50/25 too.

From outside my apartment door i you look at those old pictures and I'll post one hear.The square that's at each apartment door has a hole in the center.They drill thru that center to get into your apartment ,attach the fiber at that box,run it along the wall up near the ceiling,stapling it in place about every 8 inches.
They run in to wherever their going to have the equipment for your,TV,internet,phone.But the main fiber is going to go to the ONT.From there depending on your hook up to the phone and to the wireless router ,and split to the TV tuner(or receiver,whatever you call it).

The pictures above are the TV tuner,the wireless router,The ONT,and under the ONT the white thing is the battery backup for the phone.The tech had problems with the first 2 battery backups he tried.Both were black in color.For some reason the wall outlets power was grounded but reversed.He had a tester he plugged into the outlet and it showed a reversed polarity.And for some reason the first 2 battery backups with beep meaning that it was using the battery as if there was a power outage.He wound up getting that white battery backup and that problem disappeared.
As for the speeds I have 50/25 and in the speed tests I ran on several different sites it was in the area of 57/37.Plenty for me.
The speeds they have available are 15/5,50/25,75/35,150/65,and 300/65.
