C:\Windows\KB891711
C:\Windows\KB891711\Q891711.dll
C:\Windows\KB891711\KB891711.exe
C:\Windows\KB891711\KB891711.exe running at startup via registry entry.

Logiteck Trac-Ball erratic behaviour installed under generic MS mouse drivers under 98SE.
Also issues now with Hauppague tv card drivers that did not exist before. Also issues with some video games with high graphics demands such as STEAM apps and other high demand video.

Am about to uninstall manually.

Whoever earlier mentioned "should have known not to immediately downloaded new updates" is correct.

Have stopped it and removed folder and files and removed registry entries. Rebooted.
TV card and mouse already seem smoother and so far no BSODs while pressing the system.
Cursor no longer seems 'stuck' to parts of objects drawn on desktop such as WinTV, WinAmp or other apps.
Typing is faster, no mysterious 'laggy' display of each letter appearing and BACKSPACE works much faster.
I was wondering if all those odd things were related. I was almost ready for 'format/reinstall' marathon.

This was a bad update for my 98SE system!

The KB891711.exe caused problems on my comp but not as severe as what you reported. I didn't bother removing it, just removed it from startup. However there are also reports where the above update did not cause any problems and works as intended.
