 | Broadband In Mexico The internet in Mexico sucks, period. Telmex is the only DSL provider and the service and prices are horrendous. Equally bad are the cable providers. It's a monopoly, with the owners of these few companies paying up the authorities so that no more companies (and therefore, competition) make business here. It's a mafia. This country is sinking fast and mark my words, the people will have enough of all the corruption and impunity and crime and a friggin' revolution will happen. |

 | reply to CondorMan I agree.
My girlfriend has family there and spend quite a bit of time there myself.
Who in their right mind would pay $75 for 256/128kbps cable internet? Apparently a lot of people, as they don't have any other choice.
At least our Primus VoIP service isn't being purposely degraded by the cable company. And to think that we almost went with Telmex until we found out that it wasn't available in the neighbourhood. |

 | If you can afford $75 for broadband then you certainly are not poor in Mexico. And its only a problem when everyone paying those fees would rather continue paying those fees instead of doing something about it. |
