<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/385035"><b>steve1a</b></A> : I am using  the single click but I have always had that setting with no problems...<br><br>I am using a Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse... but again that has been working fine an I have made no adjustments to the settings that I have been using there for months...<br><br>I do have the hot fix 890047 that was mentioned in the link in the last post but it looks like it was installed on 1/21/05... and this just started... AND I'm not seeing where to uninstall this hot fix.... it is not listed in the add/remove.... where else or how can I uninstall it?<br><br>Also per the :<br>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\ACTIVE SETUP\INSTALL COMPONENTS\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}<br><br>Locate IsInstalled, double click on IsInstalled-----change value from 1 to 0<br><br>the IsInstalled entry is not listed so I have nothing available to change the value to try the IE restore per the suggested guidelines.<br><br>EDIT:<br>Duh... so I tick the show updates in the add/remove to find the hotfix and uninstalled it... lotsa warnings ignored... rebooted and received a message that IE6 had been removed.... check the above registry and the IsInstalled is back with a "0"... however IE6 is installed<br>version 6.0.2900.2180xpsp2 and working....<br>and the drag and drop problem is still happening....<br><br>Don't know where to go next.... uninstall reinstall SP2 ?<br><SMALL>--<br>Got a VAIO? <description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/385035"><b>steve1a</b></A> : I have lost the ability to drag and drop in general... in Windows XP Home w/ SP2...<br><br>I have tried a variety of options I have found Googling..<br>Ran a registry fix from Kelly's Korner<br>Have done a few different restore points... etc.<br><br>One that can't seem to try is a repair/restore of IE that is suggested in one of the Googlings... <br>I have at least tried for the &raquo;<A HREF="/faq/xpinstall">The Broadband Reports Windows XP FAQ</A> &raquo;<A HREF="/faq/4215">Can I Restore Internet Explorer?</A><br>Per:<br>modify the following Registry Key:<br><br>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\ACTIVE SETUP\INSTALL COMPONENTS\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}<br><br>Locate IsInstalled, double click on IsInstalled-----change value from 1 to 0<br><br>But the Locate IsInstalled is not listed in that key... ???<br><br>If I try to drag anything they basically open or launch..<br><br>I have run virus scans, and spyware apps... and nothing is coming up...<br><br>any suggestions?<br><SMALL>--<br>Got a VAIO?
