Upgrade download speed, ASI, non-SBC customer

Ok, using Expediant, formerly APK in Cleveland for years. Upgraded to a 3/512. Getting the 512, but nothing close to the 3MB, still same old download speeds.

FAQ suggests this is a Reback issue where the profile has not been updated. That sound plausible. It always helps when you know what you are talking about before you call support

OK, now that we're in the proper forum, chances are you've properly diagnosed your problem.

It is likely a redback Profile issue. You can post your Phone number in SBC Direct, and one of us can take a look.

Is DSLR becoming SBC??? Somehow, the treatment of this thread reminds me of how SBC handles customers calls. Yeah! Technically the thread didn't belong in the Ameritech Forum (SBC Midwest) but it is an SBC issue and it would have been just as easy to direct it to SBC Direct from there. Posting it here accomplished NOTHING.

There are Mods here than can answer your first question... and have responded to those types of alligations in the past.

There is nothing wrong with putting this into the right forum. It is a legal thing... and ASI Wholesale Customer's Subs are not SBC Yahoo Customers. The problem is an ASI Issue, not an SBC Issue.

There is no need for you to comment like that. None of us knew that SBC Direct can help him even if he's not an SBC CUSTOMER. We just help SBC (midwest) customers in the Midwest, thus I instructed him to post here in ASI and see what you guys have to say. When he contacts his ISP they are suppose to handle it and communicate with ASI is how we understand it.

The ASI section was created specifically for customers who have ISPs that use ASI for transport, but do not happen to be SBC customers.

This was done over a year and a half ago in response to requests from people far up the ASI foodchain,

Yes, soon as my post got moved, it was fixed in a heartbeat. One of the ASI folks picked up on it. I should have posted that, but my thread turned into a war I really didn't want to get into. Pulling rock solid 2.6/470 or so.

Now, give me a hot thread about spam and I will get into it with folks

Thanks... I am beginning to wonder if me trying is paying off anything at all. I suspect I am breaking even, nothing more nothing less. Unfortunatley, border skirmishes and small battles are not going to win the war overall. looking at the bigger picture suppose I do drive the 100 out... (MCI's numbers increase and all the SBC competitor numbers climb. What did I accomplish then "Oh gee I sent them to another network.. "

You kept your traffic for your customers from being blocked by email admins like me. Long as your are trying we don't block it.

XO, Above.net and Comcast can not send us any email at all. Comcast accounted for 37 percent of our incoming spam. XO and Above.net lied to us and said some particular spammers were being disconnected when in fact they were just moved to new IP ranges. We are nothing big, school system with 8000 users...so not like I put any of them out of business.

It is happening, two internets. One for the spam supporting folks like XO/Above/MCI/Comcast and one for the rest of us. So while you may not see an direct impact from your efforts the end result is the same.

Now, if YOU/SBC blocks all of MCI, including their corporate email servers first thing Monday morning how long do you think it would take for MCI to clean up their act? I bet they have it done by the end of the day.

You know a network as big as yours can be cleaned up, your abuse depts efforts and the port 25 blocking have made major strides. Hold MCI to the same standards as you hold yourself.

There ya go, you got me going again
