Re: They are and always will be spyware! I also hope legislation is passed to block this kind of computer abuse. At one time there was a name for software that was secreted onto a computer for another's purposes, and carries a huge penalty if prosecuted. The name that was given? VIRUS! I pay to use the internet and dont want to see ANY advertising regardless of what I am searching for. For a company to be able to place their software, tracking cookie, or embedded image for the purpose of tracking is to me the equivolent of home invasion, which is prosecutable as an act of trespass. Laws are already on the books, they just need to be properly applied, but given this days need for specifics, lets get some new laws. |
