 | Searching for a new ISP Hello:
I'm searching for an ISP and I have a few questions regarding Sanappy's usenet service.
1.- Is the donwnload speed (bandwidth) capped? 2.- Is there a limit on amount of data to download? 3.- What is the approximate retention rate? 1 week, 30 days, etc.
Thanks |

 | reply to jrojo01 Were you able to get the answer that you were looking for ?
Just in case :-
Usenet is outsourced to Giganews. There is no 'cap' to total download However the speed of the download is throttled to keep things reasonable. |

 | reply to jrojo01 Jr... while you may find some complaints about SnappyDSL, SnappyDSL is definitely a keeper. They have good support and the overall service level is good. They also provide static ip accounts which is helpful. If you are looking for consistent service these are the guys to go with. Sure some places may offer faster services but it's not very reliable. I experience drops in service from time to time but not like other ISPs I've had in the past. If you are a veteran DSL / Broadband user, you will quickly realize the service is better than most. The closest level of service I got was from MegaPath but then it cost me $150/mo for a ISDN line running a mere 212 versus 800-1200 at Snappy. Plus, if you have a problem, you aren't sent to India or China or the moon for support. They are probably 10-15 dollars more but it's worth it. I should get paid to write these kinds of endorsements. =) |
