 | fair complaint: demand more even regulation Ah, but that's just it. They don't demand the FCC force cable to open up to resellers. They deman the FCC remove the wholesale requirement regulations on them.
When is the government going to wake up and ask the much needed questions? Who among us can actually choose between Verizon and SBC local phone service in their home? Who here can choose between Comcast and TimeWarner in their home?
That's right, no one or an extremely rare few. These companies have been colluding ever sine the 1996 telecommunication act. SBC and Verizon complain UNEPs are too low, yet they won't buy each others' UNEPs and compete. Cable and the Bells say, "build your own." Yet when companies try, the monopolies sales reps follow the construction crews and offer special 'promotional pricing' to everyone in the new companies build out territories.
It's funny how when congress held hearings on the Microsoft monopoly they used the question of 'who here uses something other than windows on their computer?' but they want do the same for phone and cable service. |

 | reply to kcjames9 All good points, but the real telling of the tale can be found in Federal and state election contribution disclosure forms(ELEC).
Read them and marvel how government is sold to the highest bidders. Pay close attention to the amounts being handed out by the major telecom concerns. You will find it...enlightening. |

If Verizon provided me phone and FIOS it would literally take .5 of a second to call and cancel SBC phone. If Verizon offered me FIOS it would take me about 1 sec after I finish calling to dial the number to cancel my Cable HSI(since it is the ONLY one I can choose at the moment).
