Munis are when local muni(cipalities) build and run a network as a public utility, same as elctricity, water, sewer - often because the commercial providers won't serve the town anyway. Now that munis have been popular successes in some areas the commercial ops are trying to manipulate politicians into passing laws at the state level to make it either hard or impossible for towns to own their networks.
Class A blatant stupidity, but the pols are whoring themselves out for big business. Again. Thus the flap. |
