A Patriot Act Promotion?

he pumped out 10 million spam e-mails a day over 16 broadband lines - selling mostly fraudulent crap. His monthly broadband bill was about $50,000 per month, according to this older AP article.

16x29.95 for 1.5M lines = 479 =?? 50000.0 / month

(100kB/s x 3600s/h x 24h x 16 lines) / (10kB per mailing) = 13.8M mails

Sounds like a typical prosecutorial promotion.

At US$50,000, he was either paying for bandwidth solely (i.e. metred usage inside of a co-lo, or 95th percentile), or he had his own DS3 (45mbit; which is approximately around US$50K/month).
