Seriously though, this guy was scamming people. Money is tight these days for all but about 2% of the population. Who knows what this guy was selling and to whom, but I can't help but think that if the guy was sentenced to 9 years, the implication is there that his actions had a significant impact upon his victims. With prison overcrowding these days, most manslaughter sentences are less than 9 years. If the guy had that much money, you would think that he could have afforded lawyers that were good enough to get him sent to Danbury for a 6 month vacation, unless the impact of his actions were quite severe.
