Verizon EV DO

Here's one for you all ...... same church, just a different pew!

First let me say, I too have not had a 100mg ceiling problem with either 1xRTT or EV DO, but I do have a very LARGE issue with Verizon on EV DO pricing. As pointed out in someones post above (or below), they charge $79.95 per month for unlimited service, right. Well hang on to your hat ..... turn to page 43 in the March 2005 issue of Laptop Magazine and you will see an article titled SPEED DEMON. It references an Audiovox XV6600 PDA sold by Verizon that is EV DO enabled, giving you FULL Internet access for a mere $49.95 per month for unlimited service.

When I brought this to the attention of my local Verizon Guru, he said that Verizon feels that a PDA will download far less data than a laptop. On that note I almost went through the ceiling, because that's down right BS. Consider the OS of each format and it obvious that the conversion necessary to go from a Windows application to that of the iPAQ hx4705 is far more data intense than a simple laptop. There's absolutely nothing that you can download on a Laptop, that you can't download on a PDA.

I gave them 120 days to correct the matter or I was history and would cancel both of my accounts and take as many others as possible with me .......

I'd like to see others address this issue with Verizon and let's put some pressure on them where it hurts ...... in they're bottom line!!
