4 edits | [DNS] 04-2005 Connection Problems - Discussion The outage has been pretty much confirmed. Information on how to change your DNS is below. Comcast is aware of it and working on it. I reccomend switching your DNS for faster connectivity.

Some DNS servers I reccomend:
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
4.2.2.3
4.2.2.4
4.2.2.5
4.2.2.6
These are all DNS server addresses that resolve differently across the country. Some are GTE, some Level3, some Verizon, but are all VERY speedy and work well. Some also reccomend using the ORSC's public servers, one of which is 199.166.24.253. I have not used this server, but others say it is fast.

Yes...here in Lee County, Florida.
Switched over (hopefully temporarily) to 4.1.1.1 and back in business for the moment. |

Same problems here in Central Virginia. Verizon FIOS is looking very good at this moment when it comes out in late summer. |

yep. Just started happening a few minutes ago. The DNS is frequently going in and out. It may take a few times for it to go through. |

I reccomend in the future for us with routers (or even local machines) to hardcode one of the national DNS as our primary and the 4.2.2.2 as a secondary so we won't see these outages frequently. Once it settles down again, I will be doing that on my router if I don't notice too many speed issues.
