Re: [DNS] We have another issue tonight... Do we have to go through this every week?
Comcast's upgrade looks more like a downgrade to me. |

Mine for instance is a GTEI server in Chicago, others are level3 and verizon. Cool. Thanks for the heads-up on the server farm! |

 | reply to File Quit Thanks for the tip! This resolved my issue! |

 | reply to File Quit Walterboro SC is having problems too. |

 | reply to File Quit Well, so much for a credit. Last time this happened, I spoke to a tech who credited my account without me even asking. This time I get an A** on the phone who is very short and nearly hangs up on me. I've had Comcast HSI since 1998, you think I would get treated a bit better. I can't wait for FIOS in our area. It might not be any better, but it won't be comcast. My cable bill is over $120 and I DON'T have any premium channels!!!! Ugh...give me IPTV and competition. |

 | reply to File Quit Same here in Ambler PA, (10 miles north of Philly). Changed DNS and all is good. |

 | reply to ravenous67 He is a Comcast insider who said the DNS issues were resolved. I would not blame him for these issues, they believed they had it fixed. Forgot the ip for backup dns servers =) fortunately had my shell account on nix box to get it.. this is really stupid - what kind of isp does comcast claim to be... good thing my voip service doesn't dns query for the gatekeeper.. I'd be without phone too then LoL.. Wish I had DSL from our CLEC - but out of range of CO.. So yes FIOS will be great once delivered.. FTTP here I come baby. Plus the CLEC I work for is testing VoDoIP |

| reply to File Quit I see a few are using an ORSC DNS IP address that is not on the current website here: »support.open-rsc.org/.servers/
They list four sites: 199.166.28.10 (PS0.NS2.VRX.NET) - Atlanta, Ga 199.166.29.3 (nl.public.rootfix.net) - Nederlands 199.166.31.3 (NS1.QUASAR.NET) - Orlando, FL, USA 199.5.157.128 (ASLAN.OPEN-RSC.ORG) - Detroit, MI, USA
I use the three USA ones with Orlando as the first. It seems to work well for me. Your experience may be different. -- "If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man."----- Mark Twain |
