Please don't change me to Comcast or Time Warner With Time Warner, your premium downstream will be upgraded to 8Mbit but you'll lose quite a bit of your upstream. It'll go down to 512Kbit.
There are no usage limits or monthly caps with Time Warner either. That seems to be limited to Comcast and OOL. |

 | That is a question for the ages....if I remember correctly, neither company tell you what they are...just that you went over them and either restrict or cancel your service. |

apobull join:2001-05-03 Manchester, MD | reply to Scarlett1313 If the FCC has anything to say about this, this is far from over. They may go back and address the court's concerns with the Cable Act bill they passed back in the 90s that among other things stated that one cable company cannot own more than 30% of the market nationwide. This acquisition would bump Comcast from their 29% now to 44. |

 | reply to dogcacher The caps for Comcast are 6.6Mb/s for their gold tier and 4.4MB/s for their base plan. There are no hidden usage caps and throttling on comcast. The only time u might get a warning from comcast about usage is if you download/upload 24/7. Other than that i hope this helps |

 | reply to apobull Maybe I'm confused. But how does Comcast picking up only 1.9 million subscribers bump them from 29% of the market to 44%?
Their customer base is pretty large already. 1.9 million is not that big of an addition to Comcast. |

| reply to apobull Comcast is not going to own all of the Adelphia properties. The 1.9 million new subs will belong to Comcast. The rest of Adelphia will be owned by a joint venture with Time Warner and Comcast at the helm together. Also, there will be no rejection to the deal. It is as good as done. |

apobull join:2001-05-03 Manchester, MD | reply to smcallah See this story at the Washington Post. Shouldn't have to register. Perhaps the 44% is a bit high but certainly over 30%

Not based on Comcast's announcement today: »www.cmcsk.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=11···ghlight= One of the net effects of the deal is to eliminate Comcast's ownership (and involvement) in Time Warner's cable operations. |

Too late. DSL just became available in our area, and I have Earthlink, so QWEST won out. "Adolph-ia" restricted us to their internet service, and I would have been double-billed to keep my Earthlink email addresses and webspace. If they had sold a year ago, it would be either TW or Comcast cable internet for me. Maybe in another year...or maybe NOT. |
