 | Who get's what customers? I want to know which of the two companies will get the Georgia franchises so I can start a mailing campaign to get HDTV into my home. |

Up till now, the HD channels ARE in the guide...but we can't get them since we don't have the HD stboxen yet. This is the one better thing I see with at least Comcast, they roll these things out faster in my experience.
I have no idea what to expect with TW since I've never had their service.
I know Comcast has a good bit of service down here, in other areas so it could be that's where we go.

I was very uneasy about Comcast taking over, but once they took over, they had HDTV available here in an astonishingly short period of time. The Comcast buyout has without a doubt been a good thing for us.
Time Warner around here has always been quick to deploy new technology. As far as getting HDTV, I imagine you'll be in good hands with either company. -- \\ROB - a part of the SCB local network |

Adelphia -> Comcast:
Bartow/Cherokee/Forsyth Co. GA Winder/Talmo GA Fort Payne AL Brunswick GA
(The first three fit very well into Comcast's Atlanta holdings and North Cobb headend, Fort Payne can be merged into the Gadsden Comcast system, and Brunswick fits with Comcast's Savannah cluster. TWC is legally barred from owning cable systems in Atlanta because TW owns WTBS.)
It's interesting that Comcast will serve all four major cities in Tennessee after the deal is done...all via acquisitions (Scripps-Howard in Chattanooga and Knoxville, InterMedia in Nashville, and TWC in Memphis.)

TWC is barred from owning cable systems in metro Atlanta because of TW owning WTBS (the same applies to Cox because of WSB.) That, of course, leaves Comcast...who just happens to have several hundred thousand customers to the south and west of the Atlanta-area Adelphia properties.
