Its one fricken city. Who cares!

When any so-called provider can deliver that kind of coverage to say 30-50 markets then let me know and I'll take them seriously.

BTW, I could deliver 1Gbps from 'this' PC to the one downstairs but I ain't going to brag about it. For a single municipality, maybe the benefit can be seen in terms of VC1-based IPTV. Even at 10-Mbps channels HDTV on the order of 100 channels could be mustered.

Yeah, one city, with 2.2 million people. That's a few more PC's than your two in your house.

Anyway, it's cool. Don't be mad and jealous, you know you'd take it in a heartbeat if your ISP offered it.

Maybe RR will take notice and increase my 5Mbps to 1Gbps...

I'd love to see a screen capture from someone with that service downloading XP SP2... not that MS could keep up...

note it says 2.2 million households, so the actually population would be multiples of that

Here
kudos:1

Population of HK is about 7 million(400 Square Miles) >> ya'll seem to be forgetting something>> what does $200USD mean in relation to HK income/cost of living >> $200USD may be a months income. Beside that fact you are still limited by your system so 100mb/s is pushing it, more like 10mb/s is about it.

Cost of living is far higher in Hong Kong that in most of America.

Most people in America who haven't been to HK don't understand that the city is far more technologically advanced than New York or anything in the States.

In most systems and of course any game motherboard has giga ethernet mine actually has dual, very nice, and dual pcie 16x, sure not a big deal yet but from what I have seen in games, most system run so low graphics I can see why its not a big deal.

As for what they make there, what are you talking about most people in the US make 38,000 and less per year, I figure if they have it in one city and people buy the service its only a matter of time for other city to get it.
