 | SS5200 + VPN I have an uncrippled SS5200. I can't get my Cicso VPN client to work.
I keep getting this error.
Log file shows:
Copyright (C) 1998-2003 Cisco Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Client Type(s): Windows, WinNT Running on: 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4
1 10:33:20.872 05/03/05 Sev=Warning/3 CM/0xA310002B Adapter address changed from 192.168.1.100. Current address(es): 127.0.0.1.
It connects and then immediatly disconnects with this popup error: Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by client. Reason 422: Lost contact with the Security Gateway. check your network connection.
What settings should I change?
Thanks |

1 edit | reply to GerH Moved from Sympatico. I'm not sure what this fellow is asking but hopefully somebody here can help him out! Or it might be more appropriate in the Efficient forum. In any case, let the forum host know! Thanks! -- There is no limit to what one can do, so long as they don't mind who takes the credit. |

About your error, it seems that some process is forcing IP change on your tunneled NIC, that, for sure, breaks any IPSec VPN. |

| Since nobody has an answer, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest you purchase an Alcatel SpeedTouch Home (external, ethernet, NOT USB) modem from ebay. I have a hunch the 5200 modem is at fault here. And unfortunately Sympatico is not going to give you another modem that isn't plagued with at least the same number of problems as your current model. Perhaps you know someone you could borrow a modem from to test this theory before shelling out some dough on something that may not work? -- There is no limit to what one can do, so long as they don't mind who takes the credit. |

 | reply to GerH Try installing msconfig for win2k found at www3.sympatico.ca/s.net and see what is running under the startup tab. The only thing you need in here is your antivirus and firewall. If it is a WORK vpn then I would recommend you call your work I.T Person. That would be the best place to start. |
