Franklin, NC | Why no land line? I would never trust a cellphone as my only calling option, ever. Where I live, there isn't a cellphone signal for atleast a mile radius. In the case of an emergency, I wouldn't want to risk having a dead battery. Imagine if the power went out for a week, and you couldn't recharge your cellphone... With my POTS line, I know that my phone is always going to work.

No, but it's certainly more reliable than any cell phone I've ever owned (Verizon, Alltel). It goes down an average of 3 or 4 days per YEAR.
