Good for all of Northern Virginia

Many places in Northern Virginia still do not have Fios, so this will be a welcomed upgrade for a lot of people. Others are happy with Cox right now and would like to get such an increase without the hassle of changing services. For those lucky enough to already have Fios, this can also be seen as a positive since Fiber can easily handle subsequent upgrades. This is a prime example why competition is a good thing and it will become even more interesting when Verizon has an accompanying TV package.

Yes, what is the point if it isn't meant to compete with FiOS?

This is bullshit. Knowing my area where we have cox but not even our own backbone, we'll never get the speed increase.

Thats most impressive comming from COX!I have always looked down on COX till now.Reason is my sister has COX Internet and it has always sucked. She gets 956/96 and thats on a good speed test.I can't get COX though because I live in the next city that is wraped up by (TWC).

I wonder if Time Warner Cable will do the same and if so would it be in all TWC divisions? The only comp. TWC has in my town is Bell South. The worst ISP in the country.Outragious prices and super slow speeds.O yeah and Bayou Internet, witch is still braging about dial-up lol.

I second that,I really hope TWC increases their speed too,not only because they have to compete with FIOS,now Cox is increasing also,so I hope this competition is for the better
