| They'll still turn a profit on it Since SBC has no real plans to offer Naked DSL, they could easily market their DSL service for $5 a month and still turn a nice profit by jacking up the POTS costs. Which I'm sure they will. It's all about hitting customers with hidden costs anyway.

Telco must ask permission to raise rates AND justify them. |

| Telco must ask permission to raise the cost of dial tone, not to raise the cost of call waiting, caller ID, Tone Dialing, (still an extra feature here) or anything else most people use.
