SpeedStream 5100 & MCI dsl service

I get DSL service from MCI, and I live in San Jose, CA(if it matters). And I am having the hardest time trying to set up a home network. I just realised that, what I thought was a modem, was also a router. I have an idea of how to set up a network. I was able to do it with my SBC service a long time ago, but am unable to do it with my MCI ISP. When I access my 5100 modem/router, I am not able to access any of the admin stuff. No PW was included with the package that was sent.

I just wanted help from anyone who has experience with home networking with a MCI ISP.

if it helps here's the info on my modem.
I don't have any admin rights for the router/modem.
I set up the PPPoE on my router and that did not work.
When the modem is directly hooked up to one computer it is detected as uPnP.

»MCI (formerly Worldcom) doesn't use PPPoE from reading the »MCI (formerly Worldcom) Forum. It is a DHCP Bridged Connection.

WAN Data PVC 0*35
WAN Protocol RFC 1483
WAN Connection Speed DOWN 1536Kb/s : UP 727Kb/s
Setup your Router for DHCP not PPPoE.
